They’re sitting down in the grass, but sometimes you gotta get out of the heat, especially if it means getting a discussion with an incredible music educator like Julie Davila. One of my favorite things Julie talked about was not only an Awareness of what’s going on around you, but the importance of Responding to the visual and auditory cues that your fellow musicians are giving you as you perform together. We spend a lot of time working on our awareness as mature musicians, but the musical dialogue and magic really starts to happen when we respond to each other.
